SCHEDULE for today, Thursday 12/19: 4:00 - 5:15 Class on Stage 5:30 - 6:30 Run Snow Complete, Opening Act 2 (including Angels), Flowers, Flutes, Canes with TONIGHT’s cast 6:00 Call Times begin for those not already at stage for rehearsal Thank you everyone for all the hard work on our opening weekend shows! Please take note of the following to make the rest of the run a success. • ALWAYS CHECK THE SCHEDULE on the portal each day to be sure not to miss any rehearsals. • VOLUNTEERS: - LOOK for volunteer slots needed on the SIGN-UPs at any show where you can help. Check in with Door Monitor or Leads to see where you can pitch in. The fun is only here for a few more days! https://www.olneyballet.org/signup-genius Be sure to log your hours; any who do not complete their 20 hours will be billed as noted in the Membership Agreement. All who do more than 20 are the best!! - SHOW RESPECT & PATIENCE towards all. We are so grateful for the experience of our long-time volunteers and for the enthusiasm of our newer ones. We truly could not do it without each of you. The excitement, long hours, and pressures of the performance can push each of us, but we are all in it together as a team and create something truly magical. Let’s make sure everyone feels welcome and appreciated for their efforts! • ELEVATOR: The breakdown last Saturday was attributed to overuse. Please DO NOT USE THE ELEVATOR for arriving at & leaving the theatre/Green Room. ONLY DANCERS IN COSTUME (and the assigned volunteers with them) will use the elevator at the direction of our Green Room Lead (Jessica). Some dancers will use the stairs as determined by our Green Room Lead at each performance. • GREEN ROOM: - Help keep it TIDY as we go along. Dancers and volunteers please tidy belongings and discard trash as you see it to help keep it from being a volunteer’s job to clean up after everyone. Take a moment before you leave each performance to help clean something up. - USE DEODORANT and have freshly brushed teeth before performances please! We are in close quarters so it really matters! - ALWAYS wear clothing (tops and pants) over leotards/tights when moving through the theatre lobby & hallways (including to bathrooms.) Makeup should be removed after performing before you leave. • PARKING: A reminder yet again to park at Good Counsel, NOT in Olney Theatre’s lot or fire lane. Please advise your guests as well to make time for parking and walking across the street. •DONATIONS: Water bottles for backstage and food for pros needed! Thank you for anything you can contribute. Water bottles may be dropped off in the front lobby behind the box office. Check the sign-up for pro food at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b084ba9a829a20-food2

Congratulations! We’ve made it through the first half of our Tech week successfully, with our Dress Rehearsals tonight and tomorrow to see how it all comes together! Remember to continue to eat, rest, and wash hands regularly to stay as healthy and strong as the run requires. Huge thank you to all the hardworking volunteers who have already been putting in so many hours of hard work! What makes our Nutcracker so special is that not only does our tireless and talented director Ms. Berrend bring out the best in our dancers, but we all also get to be part of a special community of wonderful volunteers who really become family! A few reminders for the rest of this week: CALL TIMES for Rehearsals (Wed/Thurs) - Volunteers and Dancers please arrive a little earlier than the standard call time for your role for these Dress Rehearsals so that we have extra time to work out the kinks. See Green Room volunteer times in the sign-up. Experienced volunteers please plan to be early as well to help pass along your expertise to newer folks! Once shows start Friday you can plan on standard call times as listed. CHECK IN - - Dancers should sign in for each role they are cast, at Green Room (or backstage for dancers there.) Be sure to check the Performance Schedule carefully to make sure you know what role(s) you are cast for each show and what your call times are.. - Volunteers should also sign in for their roles and wear lanyard. Only SCHEDULED volunteers allowed in Green Room. If you have time to help but aren’t signed up, ask Door Monitor for available slots. SICKNESS - for emergency absences email chair@olneyballettheatre and call Marie Jones at 340-342-6063 or 301-807-8436 ASAP and be sure to talk to someone so we can keep other dancers healthy and find the appropriate replacement. DO NOT find your own replacement. PARKING - ALL vehicles must park at Good Counsel High School for every rehearsal and show. Do not leave your car in the Fire Lane with blinkers on and do not park in their lot. The walk across the street is not so hard once you get used to it - just be sure to plan time for it. Starting Thursday, there will be police crossing guards at 108 and Dr. Bird road to assist starting 30 min before show time til about 30 min after. VOLUNTEERS - Please check the sign-ups for production jobs regularly and come fill in where we have holes. If there is a job you can fill but need to learn how, do sign up, come early and ask for direction! We know everyone is busy this time of year, but it is also VITAL to have enough hands to help make the production run smoothly. But these moments are also MAGICAL and will be gone in just 2 weeks - so grab the chance to enjoy them now!  And do remember to log the hours you work as you go! **Tonight & tomorrow we still need Specialty Makeup, Hair, Gigogne, and Sewing volunteers - and meals for the Pro Dancers! THEATRE ETTIQUETTE & BEHAVIOR - All please remember we are GUESTS of the theatre and should behave accordingly. Parents, volunteers & dancers:  keep voices down and use respectful and controlled behavior throughout the theatre building. Please share the following reminders with your children: - Dancers do not enter/leave or move through the theatre in leotards/tights; be sure to wear street clothes and remove makeup before you leave. LABEL ALL YOUR BELONGINGS and keep them tidy. - Dancers should not be outside the Green Room unless authorized and accompanied by volunteers. - No changing or makeup in theatre bathrooms. When using restrooms, be tidy and if you discover a problem please report it to an adult immediately. - Backstage access for ASSIGNED DANCERS & VOLUNTEERS ONLY!! There is too much that must happen like clockwork so we cannot have extra bodies in the way. - Backstage cubbies are for ASSIGNED dancers ONLY - no guests, family, or younger dancers allowed. - PHOTOS & VIDOES strictly PROHIBITED in Green Room, Backstage, and Audience! - Respect that we are all volunteers! Let’s lead by example and help our young dancers see how people pitch in cheerfully, are patient and tolerant with others, and handle the unexpected with calm, teamwork, and optimism. You all are the best! Once again, thank you to everyone for all the hours driving and preparing your dancers and for volunteering throughout the rehearsal phase. Here comes the icing on the cake!

Since rehearsals will be moving to the stage sooner this weekend than expected thanks to the tireless work of the load-in crew, our Nutcracker costumes and sewing shop supplies will need to be transported from BDC to Olney Theatre this Friday morning 12/6 from 9 am - 12 pm, continuing Saturday 12/7 from 9 am - 12 pm if needed. We will meet at BDC at 9 and end at the theatre by noon at the latest. Please use the following link to sign up if you can drive your vehicle to transport costumes or contribute extra hands to move them, so we can estimate how much will be able to be moved each day. A great way to log a few more volunteer hours! Thanks! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090D44ADAE2EA13-nutcracker
