PERFORMANCE RUN TIME
A performance is approximately 2 hours including a 15 minute intermission.
You are welcome to bring a car booster seat to help small children see the show better.

To encourage all patrons to print and bring their scannable ticket to the show, OBT will have a golden ticket winner for each performance! You will not know that you have won until you print out your ticket! After purchasing your ticket, simply print it out and if you win, your ticket will print in a rich golden color with a winning message. Bring your golden ticket to the OBT Ticketing Desk located in the theatre lobby to redeem your prize. We invite all Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, their families and friends, along with Scout leaders to enjoy our special night of this holiday classic and to meet dancers onstage after the performance! Girl Scouts can attend as part of earning the Nutcracker Patch (patch not provided). Please make sure your Scout wears their scout apparel (vest/sash/uniform) to the performance.
Ticket Price: $11.40 on-line / $12.00 at the door. Group discount does not apply for this performance. Tickets may be purchased at the door, subject to availability.

Join Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy and her court at the Nutcracker Tea Party following the Nutcracker performance on December 22, 2019 with this year's "Candy Cane Cotillion" theme. This memorable affair will be held at The Manor at Silo Falls and is an interactive experience geared toward pre-school and elementary-aged children and their families. At the tea, guests will enjoy a selection of food and sweets with coffee, sodas and tea (of course!) There will also be a cash bar for adult beverages. Your children will interact and mingle with costumed Nutcracker dancers, collect autographs, enjoy arts and crafts, have a photo opportunity with the Sugar Plum Fairy and even have a dance lesson with Clara! Guests are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture these special moments.
Please Note: A Nutcracker performance ticket is not included with the Nutcracker Tea Party. Nutcracker performance tickets are sold separately.
Ticket Price: $40 each / $350 for a table of 10 by December 2nd and $45 each on or after December 3rd.

Drop-offs permitted in front of the theatre. However, patrons must park at Good Counsel High School across the street. Parking is free.
Directions to Olney Theatre Center
Olney Theatre Center is located on Maryland Route 108 (Olney-Sandy Spring Road) in Olney, Maryland, one and one-half miles east of Georgia Avenue (Route 97) and two miles west of New Hampshire Avenue (Route 650).
Take the Intercounty Connector (ICC) to Olney Theatre Center:
If you have an EZPass Transponder your trip following many of the routes below (particularly any route that directs you to I-495/Capital Beltway) can be made quicker by taking the Intercounty Connector (MD200) either from I-270 or I-95.
From I-270: Take Exit 9 - I-370 east to MD 200/Sam Eig Highway and follow the signs to I-370. Take I-370 for 2.5 miles until it merges with the ICC/MD-200. Take Exit 8 - Georgia Avenue and follow the signs toward Olney. Travel north on Georgia Avenue and turn right onto Olney-Sandy Spring Road/Rt. 108. Travel one and one-half miles to Olney Theatre Center, which will be on the left.
From I-95: Take Exit 31B - MD 200 (Intercounty Connector) West. Travel approximately 10 miles to Exit 8 - Georgia Avenue and take the ramp towards Olney. Travel north on Georgia Avenue and turn right onto Olney-Sandy Spring Road/Rt. 108. Travel one and one-half miles to Olney Theatre Center, which will be on the left.
From NW Washington, DC:
Due to construction on Georgia Avenue (Route 97), we recommend taking the following alternate routes from Washington, DC.
Take New Hampshire Avenue (Route 650) east approximately 18 miles. Turn left onto Norwood Road. Follow the road as it becomes Dr. Bird. Dr. Bird will dead end at the entrance to Onley Theatre Center.
Take Connecticut Avenue (Route 185) out of the District for 4.5 miles and stay to the left to remain on Connecticut Avenue at the intersection with University Boulevard. Continue another 2 miles and turn left onto Georgia Avenue (Route 97 - this is north of the construction mentioned above). Travel North on Georgia Avenue for 2 miles and turn right onto Olney- Sandy Spring Road/Rt. 108. Travel 1.5 miles to Olney Theatre Center, which will be on the left.
From SW/SE Washington, DC:
Take 295N out of the District and stay to the left to 295N/Baltimore-Washington Parkway. Travel 4 miles and follow the exit to I-495N/I-95N toward College Park/Baltimore. Take the I-95 north exit and travel 3.1 miles to Exit 31B/MD-200W toward US-29 & I-270. (EZ Pass Required) Take exit 13 for Route 650/New Hampshire Ave toward White Oak/Ashton. Travel 1.3 miles and turn left onto Norwood Rd which becomes Dr. Bird Road and dead ends at the entrance to the Olney Theatre Center parking lot. Continue straight through the traffic light to enter.
From Northern Virginia via the George Washington Parkway:
Take the GW Parkway North to I-495N (Capital Beltway) toward Maryland. In approximately 4.5 miles stay to the left for I-270 N. In approximately 7.5 miles take Exit 9A-9B and merge onto I-370 East. After 2.5 miles the road merges with MD-200 E (ICC - EZPass required). Travel 5.5 miles to Exit 8B - Georgia Avenue toward Olney. Travel North on Georgia Avenue for 2 miles and turn right onto Olney-Sandy Spring Road/Rt. 108. Travel 1.5 miles to Olney Theatre Center, which will be on the left.
From Baltimore (downtown):
For best results follow directions from I95 above.
For those without an EZPass: Take I-95 south to Route 32 west. Follow Route 32 west to Route 108 west. Travel on Route 108 west for approximately 10 miles. Olney Theatre Center is on the right (two miles from the intersection of Routes 108 and 650).
From Prince George's County:
For best results take I495 to I95 North and follow directions from I95 above.
For those without an EZPass:
From I-495 (Capital Beltway), take Exit 31 north (Georgia Avenue, Route 97) toward Wheaton. Follow Georgia Avenue north approximately 13 miles to the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Route 108 (Olney-Sandy Spring Road). Turn right onto Route 108 and travel one and one-half miles to Olney Theatre Center, which will be on the left.
From Frederick, Maryland:
For best results follow directions from I270 above.
For those without an EZPass:
Take I-270 south to Exit 8 toward Shady Grove Road (local lanes). Merge onto I-270 (local lanes) [Note: do not exit I-270 at Exit 8-simply merge into the local lanes]. Take Exit 6 (West Montgomery Avenue, Route 28). Keep left at the fork in the ramp and follow West Montgomery Avenue (Route 28 east) through Rockville (approximately two and one-half miles). Turn left onto First Street, which will become Norbeck Road (Route 28 east). Turn left onto Georgia Avenue (Route 97) and travel north to the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Route 108 (Olney-Sandy Spring Road). Turn right onto Route 108 and travel one and one-half miles to Olney Theatre Center, which will be on the left.
